When farmers have solutions, giving their stories a wider audience can help those solutions travel further.
On 18 September, NABOCADO facilitated a media field day under the SCRAS Project, taking selected media practitioners into communities to see and hear directly from farmers putting climate-smart agriculture into practice.
The team visited farmers in Kata in West Mamprusi, North East Region, and Nkuzesi in the Nabdam District, Upper East Region, where farmers are adopting practices including crop rotation, cereal-legume integration, mulching, grass and stone bunding, and agroecology to improve their resilience to changing climate conditions while promoting environmentally friendly agriculture.
The engagement gave the media an opportunity to interact directly with farmers, hear about their experiences and understand the practical work being promoted through the SCRAS Project.
By bringing these stories closer to the public, NABOCADO hopes the media will help amplify farmers' experiences and encourage wider awareness and adoption of climate-resilient agricultural practices.
The SCRAS Project is funded by Misereor, with support from Bistum Münster Diocese, Germany.
