This policy explains what information the NABOCADO website (nabocado.org.gh) collects, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we need.
Who we are
The Navrongo-Bolgatanga Catholic Diocesan Development Organisation (NABOCADO) runs this website and is responsible for the personal information collected through it. We handle it in line with NABOCADO’s Data Protection Policy, and our Data Protection Officer oversees how it is used. Our contact details are at the end of this policy.
What we collect
Online donations. If you donate, we record your name, your email address, the amount, the project you chose and the payment reference. Payments are handled by Paystack. We never see or store your full card or mobile money details. Paystack sends us a record of the transaction, which can include the payment method, the last four digits of a card, the issuing bank and the internet (IP) address used.
Visits to the website. Like all websites, our server records basic technical details when a page is requested: your IP address, your browser type and the pages you visit. We use these only to run and protect the website.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Cookies
The website sets two small cookies. Both are needed for the website to work, and neither is used for tracking or advertising:
- nabocado-session keeps your visit working from page to page. It expires after two hours without activity.
- XSRF-TOKEN protects forms, such as the donation form, against misuse. It expires at the same time.
Services from other organisations, listed below, may set their own cookies.
How we use your information
- To process and record donations, keep proper financial records, report to auditors and contact you about your donation if we need to.
- To keep the website secure and working.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers described below or where the law requires us to.
Services from other organisations
Some parts of the website use services run by other organisations. When your browser connects to them, they receive your IP address and may collect other information under their own privacy policies:
- Paystack processes donations on our donation pages.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used on every page.
- Google Maps shows the map on our Contact page.
- jsDelivr supplies a display script on the Impact Stories page.
- YouTube and Facebook, when you play a video on our website. The video loads from their servers only after you press play.
Our links to Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube take you to those websites, which have their own privacy policies.
The website and its data are stored by our hosting provider. Its servers may be located outside Ghana.
How long we keep information
- Donation records: for as long as we need them for our accounts, audits and legal obligations.
- Session data: deleted automatically, normally within a few hours.
- Server records of visits: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period.
Keeping information safe
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only authorised NABOCADO staff can see donation records, and payments are handled by Paystack. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. Staff must report any suspected data breach straight away, and we act on it promptly.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information, unless we must keep it, for example for financial records.
Email your request to info@nabocado.org.gh, addressed to our Data Protection Officer. We will ask you to confirm your identity before we release, correct or delete any information, and we will reply within one month.
Children
This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
