On Thursday, 16th July, 2026, NABOCADO officially handed over livelihood and skill-based equipment to at-risk women and youth in the Kongo community, Tempane.
The donation forms part of the implementation of the Promoting Economic Stability, Resilience, and Peaceful Co-existence through Livelihood Empowerment for At-Risk Women and Youth in Kongo (Livelihood for Peace) project in partnership with the UNDP Ghana under the UNDP Governance, Rule of Law and Peacebuilding, for Sustainable Development Flagship Program, funded by the governments of Embassy of Denmark in Ghana, Luxembourg, and the Republic of South Korea.
The handing over ceremony was attended by management staff of the Tempane District Assembly, the District Police Command, the Ghana Immigration Service, local chiefs and representatives of diverse groups in the community.
The items included goats for selected women and youth to rear, agro-processing equipment for organised women’s groups, and start-up kits (sewing machines, tables, chairs, hair dryers, hair washers, mirrors and weaving machines, with their accessories) for young women who have completed their skills training but could not establish themselves because of financial and logistical constraints.
In the coming days, NABOCADO will also facilitate trainings for the beneficiaries on business management, livestock production and marketing, savings and internal lending concepts, and agro-processing to enable them to maximize the opportunity for improved livelihood and peace in the Kongo community.
NABOCADO will also organize intercultural events to promote cohesion among the diverse groups in the community.
We are grateful to our partners and the community for their resilience amid a broken community bridge and unfavorable weather outlook to hold the ceremony.
