Livelihood for Peace Project Begins in Kongo, Tempane District

June 18, 2026  ·  Justice, Peace & Humanitarian Response

On Monday, 8th June 2026 (U/E), NABOCADO, with support from UNDP Ghana under the Governance, Rule of Law, and Peacebuilding for Sustainable Development Flagship Program, took significant strides in Kongo, Tempane District of the Upper East.

We conducted a series of project entry activities, including engagement of district-level stakeholders and formal community entry with the chief, assemblyman, leaders of diverse groups, church leadership, and the wider community, followed by comprehensive sensitization on the project and orientation on beneficiary selection criteria and processes. Community members were informed of their rights, safeguarding mechanisms, and feedback channels, ensuring confident and safe participation throughout the project lifecycle.

Over the coming months, the initiative will expand livelihood opportunities for women, youth, vulnerable persons, and minority groups while creating structured spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and peaceful coexistence.

The Governance, Rule of Law, and Peacebuilding for Sustainable Development Flagship Programme (funding windows) is an initiative of the UNDP Ghana with funding from the governments of Denmark, South Korea, and Luxembourg.

This initiative affirms a collective commitment to building communities where every voice matters and every person has the opportunity to thrive.
