On Friday, the Catholic Health Services Trust (CHST) and NABOCADO came together to commemorate the 2026 World Day of the Sick at the St. Francis Assisi Health Centre in Banyono (Kasena-Nankana West District). The celebration, graced by Bishop Alfred Agyenta, included a beautiful Mass and compassionate ward visits where prayers and solidarity were offered to the sick. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, encouragement, and hope for healing.
This year’s theme, “The compassion of the Samaritan: loving by bearing the pain of the other”, reminded us of the power of empathy in healthcare. CHST also honored hardworking health staff in the diocese for their dedication to caring for the vulnerable. Bishop Agyenta encouraged all health workers to serve with compassion, reminding them that true healing begins with love, dignity, and the courage to walk with those who suffer.
