Building Peace in Bawku: NABOCADO Engages Peace Stakeholders

September 15, 2026  ·  Justice, Peace & Humanitarian Response

Peacebuilding requires collective action, sustained dialogue and a shared commitment to finding solutions.

Under the Integrated Peacebuilding for Improved Food and Nutrition Supply (INPEACE) Project, NABOCADO engaged key district-level peace stakeholders in the Bawku Municipality to discuss and chart practical strategies towards strengthening peace and peaceful coexistence in the municipality.

The engagement brought together representatives of the Justice and Security Sub-Committee, Municipal Coordinating Director, Presiding Member, Justice and Peace Committees, Parish Priest, NCCE and CHRAJ.

The Director for Justice, Peace and Humanitarian Response at NABOCADO, Theo Abolga, used the occasion to introduce stakeholders to the new three-year phase of the INPEACE Project, funded by Misereor of German Embassy in Ghana, and highlighted the importance of continued collaboration among local institutions and peace actors.

Stakeholders shared perspectives on the peacebuilding situation and proposed a range of activities and engagements to strengthen local efforts towards lasting peace in Bawku.
