In recognition of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Gender and Communications Departments of NABOCADO carried out community sensitization sessions across selected locations in the Upper East and North East Regions of Ghana.
The sessions focused on this year’s theme, “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” addressing online safety, digital harassment, and emerging threats affecting women and girls. Participants shared valuable experiences and gained a deeper understanding of how digital spaces can both empower and endanger women.
A striking insight from the outreach was the limited awareness of what constitutes abuse, including various forms of digital violence. This highlighted the need for continued education and community-level engagement.
NABOCADO’s Gender Focal Person, Ms. Irene Mahamoud, also provided orientation on the organization’s Safeguarding Policy, reinforcing our commitment to ethical conduct, accountability, and safe programming.
We remain dedicated to promoting gender equality, strengthening community protection systems, and ensuring safe environments for women and girls across our operational areas.
