Ten Youth Trained in Fish Production Under Ghana-Germany-Uganda Programme

August 08, 2024  ·  Livelihood & Agriculture

Ten youth selected from across the Diocese took their turn to be trained in the fish production value chain under the Ghana, Germany and Uganda Partnership Cooperation Program.

In his address to open the session, the Executive Director of NABOCADO, Dr Joseph Ayembilla, said the partnership programme shows NABOCADO’s resolve to improve livelihoods through sustainable agriculture.

“This program affirms our (NABOCADO) desire for a paradigm shift to ensure that we feed enough people with smaller land. We need to move beyond the peasant approach to the business approach where we can produce enough, supply and make enough income to meet our needs,” he said.

With the programme goal of supporting the youth to venture into agriculture as a business, the Livelihood and Advocacy Directorate of NABOCADO and our industry professionals serving as facilitators will impart knowledge and practical skills in SMART fish farming strategies, business development, disease management, record keeping, harvesting and marketing.
