On Thursday, 7th August 2025, NABOCADO facilitated a confidence-building session for stakeholders from the Doba and Kandiga communities as part of the Sahel Peace Initiative (SPI 4.0), implemented with funding support from CRS Ghana through the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference. The initiative seeks to promote peace in Ghana and the Sahel Region.
The session brought together Traditional Chiefs, women, youth, Assembly Members and Tindanas, creating a safe space to openly discuss issues affecting peacebuilding in the area and explore practical strategies for advancing lasting peace.
Other key stakeholders were the Executive Secretary of the Upper East Regional Peace Council and members of the Traditional Mediation Team.
The presentation focused on trust building and women in peacebuilding.
Participants shared valuable insights into the current state of peace efforts and proposed measures to overcome challenges and strengthen harmony between the two communities.
Going forward, NABOCADO and the Traditional Mediation Team will hold engagement sessions with key actors to resolve emerging threats in the two communities.
