As part of the Promoting Peace in Ghana and the Sahel Region Project under the Sahel Peace Initiative (SPI), NABOCADO organised a two-day residential psychosocial support session for Priests from the Eastern Corridor of the Catholic Diocese of Navrongo-Bolgatanga. The training was held from 12th to 13th August 2025.
The Eastern Corridor, which covers the Bawku and Walewale deaneries, has long experienced violent conflicts, leaving communities deeply affected by trauma. Recognising that Priests often serve as the first point of contact for individuals in need of counselling and trauma-informed care, the session was designed to equip them with skills in:
Social cohesion
Leadership and trauma awareness
Inner healing and self-identification
Resilience building and stress management
The programme provided a safe space for reflection and healing, enabling participants to share experiences, identify personal strengths and challenges, and explore coping strategies to support themselves and their communities in times of adversity.
NABOCADO is grateful to the Priests and staff who participated in this important exercise and reaffirms its commitment to fostering peace, resilience and human dignity in Ghana and the wider Sahel.
