NABOCADO proudly celebrated Farmers' Day 2024 with dedicated farmers across eight districts in the North East and Upper East Regions as part of our SCRAS project. It was an inspiring day filled with recognition, innovation and community spirit.
We had the honour of presenting awards to deserving farmers who have successfully implemented practices that align with our project objectives, focusing on Climate Change Adaptation, Sustainable Farming Practices and Local Innovation.
The event also featured exhibitions showcasing various local innovations, indigenous seeds and district-level climate adaptation action plans.
The celebrations were held in collaboration with various Assemblies in the Upper East and North East Regions under the Strengthening of Smallholder Farmers’ Resilience towards a Changing Climate and Promotion of Environmentally Friendly Agriculture in the Diocese of Navrongo-Bolgatanga (SCRAS) project, funded by Misereor. Aniah Dominic Avea, Director for the Livelihood and Advocacy Programme, later spoke about the project on Dreamz 101.9 FM Breakfast News.
A heartfelt thank you to all the farmers who joined us and to everyone working hard to feed our beloved country. Together, we’re cultivating a sustainable tomorrow!
