Delivering Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) in emergency settings comes with complex challenges, from rapid assessments to secure delivery and accountability to affected populations. As a local organisation at the forefront of humanitarian response, NABOCADO recognises the need for skilled staff and robust systems to deliver timely and effective assistance to communities in crisis.
Through the EMPOWER Project, led by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), NABOCADO's team benefited from an intensive week-long training facilitated by Alan Grundy, Technical Lead on Cash and Voucher Assistance from the Humanitarian Response Department (HRD) of CRS.
The workshop covered CVA key concepts and terminology, as well as activities related to risk mapping, programme design with modalities, and CVA procedure standardisation. CRS' cash readiness approach for partners equipped staff with practical tools and approaches for quality and accountable cash assistance during emergencies.
Since 2023, the EMPOWER Project has been instrumental in building NABOCADO's capacity in emergency response. This latest training will help NABOCADO develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CVA, improve coordination and strengthen the impact of its humanitarian interventions. NABOCADO is grateful to CRS for its continued partnership and support in empowering local actors for effective emergency response.
