The Good Governance, Justice and Peace Directorate organised a two-day training for Assembly Members from the Bawku Municipal Assembly on Rising from Resilient Roots. Rising from Resilient Roots is a psycho-social training that helps participants “find internal balance, strengthen their identity and learn new coping skills in order to increase hope and well-being in themselves and their communities geared towards peace building”.
The training aimed to help participants recover from trauma, rediscover themselves and improve their abilities as community leaders to support others in post-conflict recovery. The training resonated well with the participants, with evidence of the internalisation of the “we as a people of the human family” connection. Participants included the Municipal Chief Executive and the Municipal Coordinating Director of the Assembly.
This training is part of the activities of the INPEACE project, funded by Misereor of the German Catholic Bishops' Organisation for Development Cooperation.
