His Excellency Most Rev. Julien Kaboré, Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, made his first pastoral visit to the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Catholic Diocese from 31st July to 3rd August 2025. He was welcomed into the Diocese by Most Rev. Alfred Agyenta with prayers at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish, attended by Priests, Religious and the lay faithful.
On Friday, 1st August, the Nuncio visited the Tarikom Refugee Reception and Settlement Centre in the Bawku West District.
At the centre, Most Rev. Kaboré held an engagement with the Ghana Refugee Board and met with refugees from Burkina Faso, his country of origin. In a moving homily, he shared in their plight, preached hope and encouraged resilience in the face of adversity.
As a gesture of solidarity and brotherhood, the Nuncio, together with Most Rev. Alfred Agyenta, donated food items, including rice and cooking oil, to support the basic needs of the refugees.
The refugees expressed deep joy and gratitude that the Nuncio made time not only to visit but to personally connect with them in their moment of need.
"You are not forgotten. You are loved, and the Church walks with you," he assured them.
