In May 2026, violent windstorms damaged homes and livelihoods across the Upper East and North East Regions. NABOCADO gave multi-purpose cash assistance to the hardest-hit households in the Bawku West, Nabdam, Talensi, East Mamprusi and Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri districts. Cash let families meet their most urgent needs on their own terms, from repairing roofs and replacing household items to restocking livestock and repaying debts.
Working with District Assemblies, NADMO, the Departments of Social Welfare and Community Development, traditional leaders and parish structures, our team carried out community entry, open community-based registration of households, the cash distribution and follow-up monitoring visits.
